Hi, I'm Ethan. I've been folding origami since I was three years old.

What started as a fascination with paper turned into the thing I spend most of my time on. I'm fifteen, a sophomore in high school, and most of what I fold now is modular — polyhedra and kusudama built from dozens of identical units that hold together without glue.

A lot of what I've learned came out of Japanese origami books, working through diagrams a page at a time. In 2025 I went to Stanford's origami summer camp and found out that folding is also mathematics — that a crease pattern can be reasoned about, proved things about, and computed.

My mom and I also run a small Etsy shop, EJOrigami, selling handmade origami earrings. It started as a way to do something real with the folding, and it goes toward my college fund.

I'm most interested in what happens where the physical world of folding meets the computational world of algorithms and geometry. This site is where I keep track of that.
